NEW ORLEANS — John J. Treanor, MD, chief of infectious diseases at the University of Rochester Medical Center, reviews several vaccine candidates for norovirus that are currently being evaluated in clinical trials.

“The biggest development in this area in the last 6 months or so has been the publication of an actual in vitro culture system for noroviruses,” he says. “I think this opens the door to a lot of new approaches and new assessments of how a norovirus immunity might work.”
