THOROFARE, N.J. —In the Journals Plus, a time-saving feature that provides busy physicians with summaries of the top articles from leading journals in medicine, has launched on Healio.com.

“Physicians need to stay on top of the literature, but the reality is they are pressed for time,” Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, chief content officer of SLACK Inc., publisher of Healio.com, said. “In the Journals Plus gives readers a way to keep up with their reading through a convenient, concise and practical format.”

In The Journals Plus reviews top articles from more than 100 leading academic and medical journals, including:

  • New England Journal of Medicine;
  • Clinical Infectious Diseases;
  • JAMA;

  • The Lancet; and
  • American Journal of Infectious Diseases.

“We began development of In the Journals Plus under the guidance of our physician editorial leadership along with feedback from key opinion leaders we interact with on a regular basis,” Stiglich said. “The response to the concept has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited to make it available to the health care community at large on Healio.com.”

Other journal abstracting services charge subscription fees costing hundreds of dollars. In the Journals Plus offers perspective and other features not found anywhere else, all free and readily accessible online at Healio.com.
