A new online campaign encourages people who are living with or affected by HIV to share their personal experiences, offer advice to others and support national advocacy efforts, according to a press release.

Your Story, Your HIV Wisdom, sponsored by Janssen Therapeutics, features perspectives that are submitted in the form of words, pictures, audio or videos on the campaign’s website, ShareHIVWisdom.com. With each submission, Janssen will make a donation to one of two national advocacy organizations — AIDS United or the Black AIDS Institute — depending on the participant’s preference. The company will donate up to $10,000 to each organization, according to the release.

Managing HIV requires more than medicine — it requires information and support, both from health care professionals and from others affected by the disease,” Nefertiti Greene, president of Janssen Therapeutics, said in the release. “We created Your Story, Your HIV Wisdom to support the community and provide a place to showcase the insights and experiences of people living with or affected by this difficult disease.”

Three leading HIV activists, including Maria Mejia, an advocate for HIV education, prevention, testing and treatment; Josh Robbins, host of the weekly digital series “HIV Video Minute”; and Guy Anthony, HIV/AIDS blogger, have been recruited by Janssen to select the submissions they consider to be the most inspirational and share them each month on the website, according to the release.
