New HCV Guidance: How to Monitor Patients at Various Stages of Treatment
In late September, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the Infectious Diseases Society of America, in collaboration with the International Antiviral Society-USA, issued new recommendations on the monitoring of patients at various stages of hepatitis C virus treatment.
The new section, Monitoring Patients Who Are Starting HCV Treatment, Are On Treatment, Or Have Completed Therapy, is available on HCVguidelines.org. The guidance is divided into three parts: pretreatment and on-treatment monitoring; post-treatment follow-up for patients who failed treatment; and post-treatment follow-up for patients who achieved sustained virologic response (click image below).
