Infectious Disease News prepares for IDWeek 2014

PHILADELPHIA — Infectious Disease News and Healio.com/ID will offer live coverage from IDWeek 2014.

The conference, held Oct. 8-12 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, is slated to host several thousand attendees and feature experts from around the globe speaking on research related to HIV/AIDS; infection prevention and control; new diagnostics; vaccines and immunology; emerging diseases such as Ebola, dengue and chikungunya viruses; and more.

This year’s theme is “Advancing Science, Improving Care,” featuring the latest science in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and epidemiology of infectious diseases.

IDWeek is supported by four major health organizations, including the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) — representing physicians, scientists and other health care professionals with varied backgrounds and expertise.

In addition to breaking news, the Infectious Disease News staff will offer onsite video interviews with experts to get their perspectives on some of the presentations at the conference. Readers can also expect newswires featuring the conference’s top headlines. Visit Healio.com/ID throughout the week to read the latest news.
