Meet us in Glasgow: Infectious Disease News prepares for HIV11 Congress

The Infectious Disease News editorial staff has already landed in Glasgow, Scotland, in preparation for one of the year’s biggest events in infectious disease — the Eleventh International Congress on Drug Therapy in HIV Infection.

This year, the conference’s theme reflects the recent progress and innovations in the therapeutic strategies and research affecting the management of HIV infection. The HIV11 Congress will feature 5 days of scientific sessions, presentations of new studies and updates from earlier trials.

"I expect the major topics at HIV11 will be a continuation of those from the AIDS 2012 meeting, particularly the potential public health benefits of treating all HIV-infected persons given the data from HPTN 052," said Paul A. Volberding, MD, Infectious Disease News chief medical editor. "Along with that, I'd expect a continuing debate about 'when to start treatment'. Also, we have seen significant developments in new integrate inhibitors which will generate much discussion."

The HIV11 Congress is from Nov. 11 to 15. Visit Healio.com/ID throughout the week to learn more about the presentations and to see exclusive video perspectives from the experts.
