VIENNA — In this exclusive video from the International Liver Congress 2019, Matt Kelly, PhD, head of innovation and clinical science at Perspectum Diagnostics, discusses the company’s recent data on LiverMultiScan and other product information presented at the meeting.

“LiverMultiScan and the metrics that it generates ... have industry-leading reproducibility,” Kelly told Healio Gastroenterology and Liver Disease. “We’re able to standardize our T1 and our corrected T1 across scanners from different vendors and different field strengths to produce very tight measurements.”

Stephen A. Harrison, MD, from Pinnacle Clinical Research in San Antonio, California, presented a paper that confirmed the high prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis in middle-aged Americans using LiverMultiScan, other radiographic studies and liver biopsy.

Along with these data, Perspectum Diagnostics hosted a symposium focused on the company’s second product, MRCP+, which is a tool for quantitatively characterizing the biliary tree, and a discussion about the company’s technique in the UK BioBank for conducting large-scale genetic studies that looked at proton density fat fraction, iron in the liver, and CT1 as a marker of fibroinflammation.

“We’ve identified exciting new hits that are academically interesting but also have potential value for drug companies in the future,” Kelly said.
