In this video, Rosalie Griffin, PhD, discusses the results of a study she presented at ESMO Congress 2024, which examined a biomarker that could indicate a person’s risk for developing blood cancer.
Griffin, a research associate at Mayo Clinic, highlighted the study, which looked at the mosaic chromosome alterations of over 3,000 individuals with different blood cancers and compared them with 1,000 individuals who were cancer-free.
“Ultimately, why we care about this is we hope that we're able to use this information to go back and predict whether or not individuals will develop lymphoid malignancies, and if we can discern which type of lymphoid malignancy they might develop,” Griffin said.
