Ann H. Partridge, MD, MPH, will receive this year’s ESMO Award.
The award — which will be presented during the opening ceremony at this year’s European Society for Medical Oncology Congress — recognizes an ESMO member who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of medical oncology by promoting it as a specialty, either in Europe or within the international community.
Partridge will be recognized for her commitment to advancing the breast cancer field.
She is vice chair of medical oncology, director of the adult survivorship program, and founder and director of the Program for Young Adults with Breast Cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Partridge also serves as professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.
"I am incredibly humbled to receive the ESMO Award,” Partridge told Healio. “This recognition not only honors our research focused on breast cancer but also highlights the importance of addressing survivorship and the psychosocial challenges faced by patients with cancer in general. As we work to advance treatment, we must also continue to focus on improving the quality of life for survivors and addressing the emotional and social issues that impact their journey.”
