CHICAGO — Sandra Mazzoni, DO, spoke with Healio about a study presented at ASCO Annual Meeting she was part of investigating the use of AI to determine any patterns in how patients with multiple myeloma respond to therapy.

“They used a database of hundreds of [patients with myeloma] that is publicly accessible and tried to analyze those to see if there’s patterns, genetically speaking, that have different outcomes as far as overall survival,” Mazzoni, hematologist with the Cleveland Clinic, said. “So, that was the initial technique to use to show that there is, in fact, a way to use artificial intelligence.”
