Boris C. Pasche, MD, FACP, has been appointed president and CEO of Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, part of McLaren Health Care.
Pasche also will serve as chair of the department of oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

“To lead an organization recognized throughout the health care industry for its exceptional clinical care and significant contributions to advancing cancer research and treatment is an amazing opportunity and a tremendous responsibility,” Pasche said in a press release. “I thank the leadership ... for their confidence that together, we can continue to provide an exceptional level of clinical care to our patients and support the level or research necessary to bring novel therapies from our laboratories to the patient’s bedside in the fight against this terrible disease.”
Pasche most recently served as Charles L. He also served as attending physician, specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies.
He previously served as chief of the division of hematology/oncology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as deputy director of University of Alabama Comprehensive Cancer Center.
“Dr. Pasche has demonstrated his proficiency to deliver and advance cancer care on a level that the physicians, researchers and, most importantly, the patients of Karmanos deserve,” Philip A.
