Healio’s Women in Oncology has been named a finalist for a 2023 Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Award — nominated in the Eddies, Series of Articles, B2B, Healthcare/Medical/Nursing category.

The Eddie & Ozzie Award is a prestigious recognition program in the publishing industry, recognizing excellence in editorial and design across print and digital media worldwide. This year, more than 1,100 entries were judged by qualified professionals. The finalists are the highest scoring entries across 170 categories.

“Healio is honored to be a finalist in this industry-wide award alongside the best in the business,” said Stacey L. Adams, vice president, news and initiatives, Healio. “Women in Oncology continually produces award-worthy content for the health care community, and we are proud to see this collection receive the recognition it deserves.”

Women in Oncology is a first-of-its kind effort from Healio that aims to advance the work of women in the field of oncology and improve professional culture by profiling successful female physicians and highlighting their contributions to the field of hematology/oncology. The content provides essential insights into unique challenges women face as physicians and offers information for overcoming these challenges to deliver optimal patient care. The collection, guided by a renowned peer perspective board under the leadership of consulting medical editor, Shikha Jain, MD, FACP, provides members of the current and next generation of health care with valuable skills to succeed in their careers.

“It is a tremendous honor to be named as a finalist for this extremely prestigious award,” said Jain, associate professor of medicine with tenure in the division of hematology and oncology at the University of Illinois Cancer Center in Chicago. “The success of this publication wouldn’t be possible without our incredible peer perspective board and contributors. We aim to elevate the voices of women in oncology and allies through showcasing the importance of this innovative and progressive topic and we are humbled to have been selected as a finalist.”

Winners will be announced Oct. 24, 2023, at the annual Eddie & Ozzie Awards Gala in New York City.
