Massage therapy can benefit young patients with cancer or hematologic conditions, according to retrospective study results.

Findings showed children, adolescents and young adults who underwent massage therapy sessions reported improvements in stress, pain and anxiety.

Healio spoke with researcher David W. Miller, MD, LAc, medical director for pediatric integrative medicine with University Hospitals Connor Whole Health and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, about the findings and their potential implications.
