VIDEO: Patients with prostate cancer suffer testosterone recovery delays
In this video, Tanya Dorff, MD, head of the genitourinary cancers program at City of Hope, discusses an abstract that looked at randomized trials of prostate cancer patients receiving radiation therapy and androgen deprivation.
The abstract, presented by Abdenour Nabid, MD, at ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium, provided new insights into the process of testosterone recovery in patients with prostate cancer receiving these treatments.
“There’s a significant delay in time to testosterone recovery, and some patients never recovered normal testosterone levels at all,” Dorff said.
