BOSTON – In this video interview, Christy S. Harris, PharmD, BCOP, FHOPA, talked about poster sessions presented at Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association Annual Meeting.

Harris, associate professor of pharmacy practice at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and a clinical pharmacy specialist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, discussed a poster that looked at whether the albumin level affected the adverse effect profile in patients who were on tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

“That was really interesting to see,” Harris told Healio.

She also discussed a poster that looked at the best way to give oral sodium bicarbonate when patients are already receiving high-dose methotrexate, especially amid the current IV sodium bicarbonate shortage.
