April is Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month.

The observance is intended to raise awareness about these types of malignancies and the need for more effective therapies.

In conjunction with this campaign, Healio presents the following updates in head and neck cancer research and treatment.

  1. Mid-treatment imaging helped guide de-escalation of radiation for certain patients with oropharynx cancer. Read more.
  2. A follow-up strategy without radioiodine appeared noninferior to an ablation strategy with radioiodine among patients with low-risk thyroid cancer undergoing thyroidectomy. Read more.
