Peter J. Mazzone, MD, MPH, pulmonologist and director of the lung cancer program for the Respiratory Institute at Cleveland Clinic, spoke with Healio about presentations on lung cancer given at the CHEST annual meeting, Oct. 17-20, 2021.

“In the lung cancer screening space, there were conversations about the implementation of lung cancer screening, new guidelines, how to ensure equitable distribution of opportunities to be screened, [and] how to make sure individuals are adhering to lung cancer screening,” Mazzone said. “I thought those were really quite valuable.”

He added that “very interesting” research was presented on new techniques for evaluating lung nodules during bronchoscopy.
