Sarcoma Alliance appointed William Tseng, MD, to its board of directors.

Tseng is a surgical oncologist at Keck Medicine of USC.

“Our board of directors is comprised of a dedicated team of leaders who are committed to providing support, education, guidance and connection to the needs of [patients with sarcoma],” Alyssa O’Driscoll, executive director of Sarcoma Alliance, said in a press release. “We are excited to channel Dr. Tseng’s energy, talent and expertise into furthering our mission.”

Tseng specializes in soft tissue sarcoma. He performs surgery for adults who have sarcoma in the limbs, trunk and retroperitoneum.

“I am excited about joining the Sarcoma Alliance board,” Tseng said in the release. “I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to continue to improve the medical care of [individuals with sarcoma] throughout the U.S. ... Through the Sarcoma Alliance, I hope to increase awareness of the importance of seeing a sarcoma specialist on all levels; for the patient, the nonspecialist provider and the insurance company. I also hope to expand patient access to a sarcoma specialist, which may leverage nontraditional options, like telemedicine.”
