In this video, Robert Winn, MD, director of VCU Massey Cancer Center, spoke with Healio about important takeaways from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Virtual Annual Meeting.

Winn, one of the speakers included in the keynote session about racial disparities in oncology, provided a summary of findings from a survey of patients, caregivers and providers. He noted it was not surprising to see that the awareness of equity, or lack of it, is not in alignment between providers and patients.

According to Winn, communication is critical and the health equity report card “is a game changer in establishing that alignment.”
