Barbara Burtness, MD, said as a member of the Women in Oncology Peer Perspective Board, she hopes to help bring attention to the achievements and talents of women in the field, as well as their roles in leadership and publication.
“Our contributions in terms of basic and clinical research and patient care have been enormous yet sometimes marginalized or not fully credited,” Burtness said. “So, I think part of this initiative is to tell their story so as many people as possible grasp the scale and importance of what women have done in oncology. “
