American Psychosocial Oncology Society honors Fox Chase researcher
Jennifer Barsky Reese, PhD, has received the New Investigator Award from American Psychosocial Oncology Society.
The award is presented to a society member who is within 10 years of completing their highest level of training and has contributed outstanding research in the field of psychosocial oncology.
Reese — associate professor in the cancer prevention and control program at Fox Chase Cancer Center — received the award for her work addressing sexual issues related to cancer treatment.
“I am extremely honored to get this award. This is a testament to the growing recognition of the importance of addressing sexual health and quality of life for individuals after cancer,” Reese said in a press release. “I’m grateful for the award and recognition, and hope this might spur other researchers to ask important questions and try to develop approaches to address the issue of cancer-related sexual dysfunction and well-being.”
Reese’s research at Fox Chase focuses on designing, evaluating and disseminating methods for improving intimacy, interpersonal functioning and quality of life among people with cancer.
