Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center appointed two nursing executives to leadership roles.
Karen Sharrah, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, has been appointed executive director of advanced practice services.
Sharrah, who previously served as director of advanced practice at City of Hope, will recruit and promote the development of Roswell Park’s advanced practice providers.
“Roswell Park continues to seek out the very best, and Dr. Sharrah is no exception,” Boris Kuvshinoff, MD, MBA, chief medical officer at Roswell Park, said in a press release. “We are happy to have her knowledge and professionalism to guide and inspire our APP team members.”
Andrew Storer, PhD, DNP, FNP-C, ACNP-BC, FAANP, has been named executive director of nursing education.
Storer, who previously served as director of acute care and family nurse practitioner programs at Elms College, will encourage nursing staff to participate in research, facilitate studies and promote evidence-based practice through education.
“Nursing is a career where one never stops learning,” Pamela Giesie, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CNOR, FABC, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Roswell Park, said in the release. “Dr. Storer’s passion for the discipline is palpable. I am excited to see how our oncology nurses grow under his leadership.”
