At the virtual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, researchers presented results from the monarchE and PENELOPE-B trials that investigated ways to “improve cure rates and decrease recurrence rates among women with high-risk breast cancer.”

The studies assessed “similar groups of patients, but not identical groups of patients,” according to Megan Kruse, MD, a medical oncologist at Cleveland Clinic. She explained further that it is important to look at the data from these two studies together because “the data is relevant when ... making the decision about what adjuvant therapies to provide women with high-risk hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.”
