Four institutions have become members of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium.
They are Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Florida and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
The NCI sponsors and funds the consortium, a multidisciplinary cooperative research organization devoted to the study of correlative tumor biology and new therapies for children with primary central nervous system tumors.
Members of the consortium, established in 1999, share their expertise to develop and conduct novel clinical trials designed to improve treatment of pediatric brain tumors.
New members are chosen through a competitive process based on several characteristics, including clinical trial infrastructure and expertise in basic and translational science.
