Henry A. Pitt, MD, has been named chief of oncologic quality at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Pitt will provide oversight for the planning and execution of quality improvement, performance excellence, patient safety and satisfaction, infection control and outcomes reporting.

Pitt — whose background is in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery — previously served as chief quality officer for Temple University Health System, associate vice dean for clinical affairs and professor of surgery at Temple University School of Medicine, and chief quality officer at Indiana University Health University Hospital.

Pitt also served as lieutenant commander in the Navy.
