In this video, Halle Moore, MD, director of Breast Medical Oncology in the Department of Hematology and Oncology at Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute, spoke with Healio about presentations in breast cancer at the virtual ASCO Annual Meeting.

One interesting presentation Moore noted was the TRAIN-2 study, which showed “more is not always better in the treatment of cancer.” The findings from TRAIN-2 revealed no survival benefit to early local therapy for patients with stage IV breast cancer at presentation. “In fact, the group with triple negative breast cancer seemed to have a potential harm to interrupting the systemic treatment in order to have surgery and radiation treatment,” Moore said.
