Karyn Aalami Goodman, MD, MS, has been appointed associate director for clinical research at The Tisch Cancer Institute, part of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Goodman, recognized for her expertise in gastrointestinal cancers, also will serve as professor and vice chair for research and quality in the department of radiation oncology.

She will be responsible for developing the infrastructure and resources to support cancer clinical trial research.

“We are thrilled that Dr. Goodman has joined the Mount Sinai team. With her dual role in both the department of radiation oncology and The Tisch Cancer Institute, she will be able to coordinate research for every aspect of oncologic care and help guide the growth of the department’s burgeoning research portfolio,” Kenneth Rosenzweig, MD, professor and chair of radiation oncology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, said in a press release.

Goodman previously served as associate director for clinical research at University of Colorado Cancer Center. She served as head of gastrointestinal radiation oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center from 2007 to 2015.
