VIDEO: ‘All hands on deck’ at cancer center amid COVID-19
Edward S. Kim, MD, chair of the department of solid tumor oncology and investigational therapeutics at Levine Cancer Institute at Atrium Health, spoke with Healio about the impact COVID-19 has had on delivery of cancer care at his institution.
In this video, Kim outlines the proactive steps the institution took to protect employees who were at high risk for the novel coronavirus, as well as the operational changes made to limit exposure among patients and staff.
“Our mentality is, ‘Roll your sleeves up, it’s all hands on deck,’” Kim said. “That’s just what we have to do these days. I think our patients appreciate it, and I think our staff appreciates the fact that we’re trying to take these measures.”
