Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance presented its Rosalind Franklin Prize for Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research to Kunle Odunsi, MD, PhD, FRCOG, FACOG.

Odunsi — deputy director of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center — received a $10,000 prize to support his contributions to basic science, translational or clinical research in ovarian cancer. His work focuses on ways to enhance the immune system to treat cancer.

Odunsi joined Roswell Park’s staff in 2001. He oversees its science programs and serves as chair of the department of gynecologic oncology, M. Steven Piver professor of gynecologic oncology, and executive director of Center for Immunotherapy..

He is a member of National Academy of Medicine. He also is co-chair of the ovarian task force of NCI’s gynecologic cancer steering committee.
