OneOncology appoints chief medical officer
Lee S. Schwartzberg, MD, FACP, has been appointed chief medical officer of OneOncology, a physician-led community oncology network.
In this role, Schwartzberg will work with the network’s physician governance board to further clinical and technological infrastructures, prioritize a vision of value-based care, and establish an analytics roadmap to support quality metrics and outcomes.
“Dr. Schwartzberg is one of the nation's pre-eminent oncologists and a leader in clinical research and innovation,” Tracy L. Bahl, president and CEO of OneOncology, said in the release. “Given his passionate commitment to clinical excellence and relentless focus on the patient, Lee will serve as a tremendous asset to every physician in our network. Together, our physicians will drive the future of how cancer care is delivered in this country.”
Schwartzberg also will be a member of the OneOncology board of directors. He will remain medical director of West Cancer Center and Research Institute, and he will continue to see patients as a breast medical oncologist.
