Radiation oncologist to serve as American Radium Society’s president-elect

Benjamin Movsas, MD, has been named president-elect of the American Radium Society.
Movsas — chair of the department of radiation oncology at Henry Ford Cancer Institute — began his 1-year term this month. He will become society president next spring.
American radium Society is the country’s oldest society dedicated to the study and treatment of cancer. The organization’s membership includes radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists and medical oncologists.
Movsas is a recognized for his expertise in radiation oncology, stereotactic radiation, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and quality-of-life issues pertaining to cancer.
He serves as co-chair of the NCI Patient Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) committee for the NRG cooperative group. He is a fellow of American Society for Radiation Oncology and American College of Radiology.
