City of Hope announced the appointment of two faculty members.

Rick Kittles, PhD, will serve professor and founding director of the division of health equities within the department of population sciences.

His research has focused on understanding issues surrounding race, genetic ancestry and disease, particularly health disparities among different ethnicities.

Kittles is recognized for his research into prostate cancer and health disparities among black individuals.

William Dale, MD, PhD, will serve as clinical professor in the department of supportive care medicine.

Dale is a board-certified geriatrician and palliative medicine physician who has dedicated his career to the care of older adults with cancer.

Eleven years ago, he established the Specialized Oncology Care & Research in the Elderly (SOCARE) Clinic at University of Chicago. The clinic provides interdisciplinary, individualized, and integrated treatment to optimize quality of life for older individuals with cancer.
