Alexander Kutikov, MD, has been named chief of the division of urologic oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Kutikov, a professor of surgical oncology, uses traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat urologic tumors.
“Fox Chase is a place like no other. The mission is not only to deliver world-class care, but to do so in the most compassionate way possible,” Kutikov said in a press release. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead this second-to-none urological oncology team. I will work tirelessly to continue the tradition of clinical and academic excellence that was established by my predecessors.”
Kutikov will succeed Richard Greenberg, MD, who served as chief of the division of urology and urologic oncology for 22 years. Greenberg will continue his clinical responsibilities. He also will continue to serve as a professor of urology at Fox Chase and Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
“I believe the time is right to pass the torch as chief of the division and look forward to the new ideas and energy Dr. Kutikov will bring into the position,” Greenberg said in the release. “The team that we have built is world-class and will no doubt continue to be at the forefront of urologic oncology for many decades as we all move forward in helping alleviate suffering from — and ultimately curing — urologic cancers.”
Kutikov has held leadership positions within the Society of Urologic Oncology, American College of Surgeons and American Urological Association.
“Dr. Kutikov is a tireless advocate for new innovations and clinical excellence and is a champion of our institutional spirit and mission,” Robert Uzzo, MD, chair of the department of surgical oncology at Fox Chase, said in the release. “Dr. Greenberg and I are confident that he will move the division boldly forward by providing the clinical and administrative leadership to maintain and expand on what Dr. Greenberg and the urology team have put together so adeptly.”
