NCCN Foundation honors young investigators
The NCCN Foundation this year has presented Young Investigator Awards to five researchers at National Comprehensive Cancer Network member institutions.
Honorees receive funding for a 2-year period. They also will have the opportunity to present their findings during the general poster session at an NCCN Annual Conference.
This year’s recipients are:
- Kemi Doll, MD, MSCR, of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, whose research project is titled “Racial Disparities in Endometrial Cancer;”
- Saad Kenderian , MB, CHB, of Mayo Clinic, whose research project is titled “Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia: Mechanisms of Resistance and Strategies to Enhance Efficacy;”
- Florian Muller, PhD, of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, whose research project is titled “ENO1-Deletion as a Target for Personalized Oncology: Collateral Lethality to the Clinic;”
- Elizabeth Stewart, MD, of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/University of Tennessee Health Science Center, whose research project is titled “Preclinical Match;” and
- Liqin Zhu, PhD, of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/University of Tennessee Health Science Center, whose research project is titled “Patient-Derived Tumor Spheroids for High-Risk Hepatoblastoma Drug Discovery.”
