City of Hope names provost for clinical faculty
Arti Hurria, MD, has been named provost for clinical faculty at City of Hope.
Hurria, a HemOnc Today Editorial Board member, will have primary oversight of academic and faculty affairs for City of Hope’s approximately 200 physicians.

Hurria, an oncologist and geriatrician, has been at City of Hope for 10 years. She also serves as director of City of Hope’s Cancer and Aging Research Program and director of its Center on Cancer and Aging.
“I spent most of my formative years at City of Hope, and I was very fortunate,” Hurria said in a press release. “I had mentors who helped me along the way, and joined programs that fostered my growth and development as a researcher and helped prepare me to lead a research team.”
As provost for clinical faculty, she will aim to increase the diversity of clinical faculty, as well as design and implement programs to address faculty recruitment, retention and advancement. She also will join the institution’s leadership team.
“The position will expand the spectrum of career development for our faculty and initiate programs that help support their growth,” Hurria said.
