“We welcome Dr. Olbricht to BIDMC and know she will contribute in important ways to our commitments to patient care, research and medical education,” Kevin Tabb, MD, the medical center’s CEO, said in a press release. “Our patients and our community will benefit from her leadership and her dedication to innovation in the field of dermatology.”

Olbricht worked as a staff dermatologist at what was then Beth Israel Hospital from 1983 to 1997. She served as chair of the dermatology department at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center from 1998 to 2017.

“Dr. Olbricht is an outstanding clinician and a gifted mentor,” Alexa Boer Kimball, MD, MPH, president and CEO of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC and professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School, said in the release. “Her years of experience and dedication to providing high quality care to patients make her a superb addition to Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC and the ideal candidate to lead this department."

Olbricht’s clinical practice focuses on patients with skin cancer and related syndromes that require surgical treatment. Her clinical interests include Mohs micrographic surgery.

“My career has centered on advancing education, professionalism and clinical care in the field of dermatology,” Olbricht, who also will serve as associate professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School, said in the release. “I’m thrilled to join the renowned staff at BIDMC and work with the department and medical center’s leadership to continue to provide world-class care to our patients and advance research and innovation in dermatology.”
