Frederick Hong, MD, and Michael Krabak, MD, PhD, have joined Soniwala Hematology Oncology Associates, a Roswell Park Cancer Institute community practice in Williamsville, N.Y.

Hong and Krabak have nearly 60 years of combined experience, including more than two decades each treating patients with cancer.

“Drs. Hong and Krabak are gifted oncologists who have earned the esteem of their colleagues and the trust of their patients,” Thomas Schwaab, MD, PhD, chief of strategy, business development and outreach at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, said in a press release. “They are an excellent fit with the Northtowns practice ... and the Roswell Park philosophy of care, which builds off the unique needs and values of each individual patient.”

Hong previously served as president of Century Medical Associates P.C. in Williamsville. He will remain clinical assistant professor of medicine at University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

“I am proud and excited to join the team of one of the nation’s most prominent cancer centers,” Hong said in the press release. “Roswell Park leads the way in cancer care in this region, and I look forward to both contributing to that effort and offering my patients an expanded array of services in the same community where I have practiced for my entire career.”

Krabak previously served as chief of oncology at Sisters of Charity Hospital, part of the Catholic Health System.

“Roswell Park puts their patients first and supports that philosophy with resources across every aspect of cancer care, from access to the most advanced therapies and clinical trials to supportive care and follow-up for cancer survivors,” Krabak said in the release. “We’ve had the opportunity to work with Roswell Park physicians many times over the years, and there’s tremendous mutual respect among all of us.”
