Ajay Bhatnagar, MD, MBA, a board-certified radiation oncologist, has been named research director for 21st Century Oncology’s cancer treatment centers in Arizona.

Bhatnagar will oversee research operations at 21st Century Oncology’s location in Scottsdale. He also will continue to serve as medical director for 21st Century Oncology’s five locations in the Phoenix area.

Bhatnagar, who has a background in biomedical engineering, has extensive experience in cancer care technologies and research. His most recent work focused on the development of electronic brachytherapy for the treatment of nonmelanoma skin cancer.
