Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center appoints urology chair

Cheryl Taylore Lee, MD, has been named chair of the department of urology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Lee also will be appointed the Dorothy M. Davis chair in cancer research.

Lee’s work focuses on improving patient outcomes and quality of life following surgical treatments. As a past member of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, she concentrated primarily on patients with bladder cancer.

Lee previously served as research professor of urology at University of Michigan. She serves on the boards of directors of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network and American Cancer Society. She has presided over the National Medical Association’s R. Frank Jones Urological Society and served as a member of the board of directors of Society of Urological Oncology.

“[Lee’s] expertise offers great depth and perspective to our efforts in the areas of women and men’s health,” Sheldon Retchin, MD, MSPH, executive vice president of health sciences and CEO of The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, said in a press release.
