Fox Chase announces staff appointments

Fox Chase Cancer Center announced two staff appoints.
Philip A. Pancari, MD, joined the department of hematology/oncology to provide support to the Fox Chase Cancer Center—Temple University Hospital bone marrow transplant program.
Pancari earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, worked as an internal medicine intern and resident at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, and then completed a hematology–oncology fellowship at Temple University and Fox Chase.
“I’ve enjoyed treating patients using the center’s multidisciplinary approach,” Pancari said in a press release. “It’s been beneficial to me as a physician to complete a fellowship in this type of team environment, and I think it’s also been beneficial to patients. I’m honored to continue my work in the Temple Health System.”
Shuanzeng “Sam” Wei, MD, PhD, has been appointed assistant professor in the department of pathology. He will specialize in surgical pathology and cytopathology.
Wei earned his medical degree from North China University of Science and Technology. He finished postdoctoral research fellowships at University of California, Irvine, and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also completed a residency and fellowship at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
“I’m truly humbled to be joining such a prestigious group of doctors and researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center,” Wei said in a press release. “I look forward to working with the talented pathologists to advance the study of cancer diagnoses on the cellular level.”
