The Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association presented several awards at its annual conference earlier this year.
Meghana V. Trivedi, PharmD, PhD, BCOP, tenure-track assistant professor at University of Houston College of Pharmacy, received the Basic Science and Clinical Research Literature Award. The award recognizes distinct articles that describe hematology/oncology basic science, translational research or clinical trials that evaluate drug efficacy or safety.
Benyam Muluneh, PharmD, BCOP, CPP, oncology clinical pharmacist practitioner in the malignant hematology clinic at University of North Carolina Medical Center, received the Patient Advocacy Award. The award recognizes an association member who demonstrates leadership and collaboration while advocating for outstanding patient care.
Kristin Held Wheatley, PharmD, BCOP, clinical pharmacy specialist with Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, received the New Practitioner Award. The award recognizes a member early in their career who has made a notable contribution to developing or supporting clinical hematology/oncology pharmacy services.
Ginah Nightingale, PharmD, BCOP, received the Oncology Pharmacy Practice Literature Award. The award recognizes an article other than scientific research that contributes to the betterment of the hematology/oncology pharmacy profession, and describes innovations in the community, hospital or health care system in hematology/oncology pharmacy practices.
Niesha L. Griffith, MS, RPh, FASHP, administrator of oncology pharmacy and infusion services for James Cancer Hospital and director of the pharmacy administration residency program at OSU Medical Center, received the Award of Excellence. The award recognizes a member who has made significant, sustained contributions to or provided excellent leadership in improving or supporting hematology/oncology pharmacy.
