“We are most pleased to welcome Rob Hromas to our scientific advisory board,” Samuel Waxman, MD, the foundation’s founder and CEO, said in a press release. “He has a multifaceted background in cancer research, patient care and academia that will be an asset to the [board’s] evaluation of our grantees’ work at the upcoming scientific review.”

Hromas — known for his expertise in leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma — is chair of medicine at University of Florida Health and vice president of University of Florida Physicians Clinical Practice Association. He previously served as chief of hematology/oncology at University of New Mexico, as well as deputy director of UNM Cancer Center.
