Fox Chase radiation oncologist joins prostate cancer task force
Eric M. Horwitz, MD, chair of radiation oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Task Force on Prostate Cancer and Related Chronic Prostate Conditions.
The panel includes radiation oncologists, registered nurses, urologists, state health officials and individuals with prostate cancer. Together, panelists investigate, raise awareness and make recommendations about to prostate cancer and related conditions.

The task force will issue a report with recommendations to the state secretary of health by February 2017.
“I’m honored and excited to be working with talented health professionals and patients to advance prostate cancer treatment and comprehensive prostate cancer control in Pennsylvania,” Horwitz said in a press release. “These guidelines will bring much-needed attention to this devastating disease, and will help inform Pennsylvania residents about how they can decrease their prostate cancer risk.”
