The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses presented two awards during its annual conference and exhibit.

Deborah Echtenkamp, MSN, RN, CPON, received the Dr. Patricia Greene Leadership Award, which recognizes an association member who demonstrated excellence in service to and leadership of the association.

Echtenkamp, manager of pediatric oncology and hematology and child life services at Medical City Children’s Hospital, has been an active member of the association since 1995. She served as president from 2009 to 2011.

Cynthia Stutzer, MS, RN, received the Casey Hooke Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes a member who demonstrated excellence to service and to leadership of the association.

Stutzer was the clinical nurse specialist at British Columbia Children’s Hospital and has been an active association member for more than 26 years. She has been the assistant editor of Journal of Pediatric Oncology Nursing for 14 years.
