Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses presents awards

The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses announced the recipients of the 2015 APHON Membership Awards, which recognize members who have shown outstanding achievement in their field.

  • Rachel Glincher, BSN, RN, CPHON, senior staff nurse at Maimonides Medical Center, received the APHON Counts My Most Memorable Case Award.
  • Emily Browne, DNP, RN, CPNP, advanced practice director at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, received the APHON Counts Writing Award.
  • Kathleen Spencer, MSN, APN, CPNP, CPON, and Kelly Tickle, MSN, APN, CWON, PCNS-BC, PPCNP-BC, both of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, received the APHON Counts Writing Award.
  • Suzanne Ameringer, PhD, RN, of Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Nursing, received the APHON Writing Award.
  • Wendy Davis, RN, CPON, clinical practice and education specialist at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, received the Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Instructor of the Year Award.
  • Julia Rose Golden, MSN, RN, CPHON, an acute care pediatric hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse practitioner at Akron Children’s Hospital, received the Dianne Fochtman New Author Award.
  • Emily Browne, DNP, RN, CPNP, advanced practice director at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, received the Excellence in Evidence-Based Practice Award.
  • Karyn Brundige, MSN, CPNP, ARNP, pediatric hematology/oncology nurse practitioner at Seattle Children’s Hospital, received the Jean Fergusson Excellence in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nursing Education Award.
  • Emily Long, BSN, RN, CPHON, pediatric clinical nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, received the Jean Fergusson Excellence in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nursing Practice Award.
  • Stacey Crane, MSN, RN, CCRP, CPON, predoctoral nursing fellow at Indiana University School of Nursing, received the Novice Researcher Award.
