He also will foster collaborations with the clinical team within the division of hematology, oncology, and blood and marrow transplantation at Nationwide Children’s.

“Dr. Lessnick has a proven record of research expertise and leadership, and his guidance will help advance research within the Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Diseases and care to patients within the division,” Timothy P. Cripe, MD, PhD, chief of the division of hematology, oncology, and blood and marrow transplantation, said in a press release.

Lessnick — whose research interest is Ewing sarcoma — also is professor of pediatrics in the division of pediatric hematology and oncology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
