ASCO’s Conquer Cancer Foundation recently announced the 55 recipients of the 2015 Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO Merit Awards in Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary Cancers.

The awards recognize young investigators for their work to improve the lives of patients living with these cancers.

“The Conquer Cancer Foundation applauds the work of these young investigators,” W. Charles Penley, MD, FASCO, chair of the Conquer Cancer Foundation board of directors, said in a press release. “Their research furthers the efforts of the oncology community to treat patients with increasing precision and effectiveness, bringing us closer to conquering cancer worldwide.”

The 22 recipients of merit awards in gastrointestinal cancers are: Andrea M. Abbott, MD, MS, Moffitt Cancer Center; Kamran Ahmed, MD, Moffitt Cancer Center; Benjamin T.
