Elizabeth Thompson has been appointed CEO of the Lymphoma Research Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding lymphoma research and disseminating critical information about the disease to patients and health care professionals.

Thompson succeeds Diane Blum, who served as the foundation’s CEO since 2009.

Thompson helped establish the Dr. Susan Love Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Colorectal Cancer Coalition. She also established the National Action Plan on Pancreatic Cancer and served as president of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

“Liz is a talented and proven leader in the field,” Steven J. Prince, chairman of the Lymphoma Research Foundation board of directors, said in a press release. “Her success and expertise in the areas of oncology, scientific research, patient programming and development make her the right leader for the foundation.”
