Joseph A. Sparano

Joseph A. Sparano, MD, has been appointed vice chair of the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group.

Sparano will help group leadership define research priorities and implement its research portfolio.

Sparano is associate chairman of the department of oncology at Montefiore Medical Center, as well as professor of medicine and professor of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also serves as associate director for clinical research at Einstein Cancer Center and leads the Einstein Breast Cancer Working Group.

His research has focused on therapeutic approaches in lymphoma, breast cancer and HIV-associated cancers.
