Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center plans to build a new 750,000-square-foot outpatient cancer care facility a few blocks from its main campus in New York.

The complex will house Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s outpatient facility, along with Hunter College’s school of nursing and its new science and health professions building.

Plans call for Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s portion of the site to provide care for patients with lung, hematologic, and head and neck cancers. The facility will include an outpatient bone marrow transplantation program.

“This new facility will play a critically important role in our overall cancer care delivery system,” Craig B. Thompson, MD, president and CEO of Memorial Sloan-Kettering, said in a press release. “It will have a patient-oriented physical design, making their experience as streamlined and easy as possible. It will also offer our physicians and other healthcare professionals an inspiring and efficient environment in which to provide care.”
